Well... It has come and gone!  The long awaited TV day! I went in at 9am in order to work on the store and finish all of the things I had to do before the TV crews arrived.  They started showing up at around 1:30pm and had a look around and then everyone showed up officially at 2:30pm.  So I figured I would be in a shot or two maybe.  You know.  Set up shots, ringing her up at the register, that kind of thing.  Yeah right.  Try... I was wired for sound with a mike down my ample cleavage. Smiley  Well that was a sure fire clue that I was going to be alot more involved than I had originally thought.

As this show has no 'host' and the girls mom didn't come with her today I was the person greeting her at the door, showing her outfits, talking about fashion, hearing about the weight loss camp and standing outside the fitting room door for her to model the outfits.  It was soooo akward.  I am not an actress.  I just tried to watch my mouth (you know, that microphone in the shirt), pretent it was any other customer and respond naturally.  It was weird!  It's a little hard to be genuine and realistic with two camera people, a sound guy (carrying a GIANT mike) and a producer prodding you on and having you start over, say the same thing agin (but with more enthusiasm) recording your every move.  I am a casual person so... freak me out!  And of course my Assistant standing out of sight making faces really helped! Smiley

Of course, just when you thought I wouldn't have anything to complain about...I also got to stay until 9:45pm (you guessed again.  The same associate didn't show up (or call) AGAIN).  I wasn't completely dog tired but I wasn't wearing 13 hour day shoes and now I have to fire somebody! SmileyIs it really such an effort to call and say I am sick and can't come in to work today?  Oh well, It's not my paycheck...  I still have a job and about 10 hours of time 1/2.... I think mom is getting the birthday present she wants!

How about a few words of wisdom from the Tao Te Ching...

15

The Sages of old were profound
and knew the ways of subtlety and discernment.
Their wisdom is beyond our comprehension.
Because their knowledge was so far superior
I can only give a poor description.

They were careful
as someone crossing an frozen stream in winter.
Alert as if surrounded on all sides by the enemy.
Courteous as a guest.
Fluid as melting ice.
Whole as an uncarved block of wood.
Receptive as a valley.
Turbid as muddied water.

Who can be still
until their mud settles
and the water is cleared by itself?
Can you remain tranquil until right action occurs by itself?

The Master doesn't seek fulfillment.
For only those who are not full are able to be used
which brings the feeling of completeness.
